Gospel Reading for December 04, 2025 – Matthew 7: 21, 24-27
LIP SERVICE
Jesus said to his disciples: “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. “Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock. And everyone who listens to these words of mine but does not act on them will be like a fool who built his house on sand. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. And it collapsed and was completely ruined.”

LIP SERVICE will not bring us anywhere near the Kingdom of heaven. As the saying goes, “action speaks louder than words.” We can repeat the Creed even a million times, but if our belief is not consistent with the life we live, it will be a waste of time!
Building a house upon a rock starts in childhood. If the parents instill Christian values in their children, and are witnesses to these values, they start building a house on a rock. By the time their children mature, no amount of rain, floods and wind can make the house collapse. When they are beset with problems and heartaches, their faith in God will not just collapse.
Lord, help us keep our faith in you steadfast and constant!
