Nagpahayag ng suporta ang Mother Butler Guild (MBG) sa mga Obispo at Pari ng Simbahang Katolika na isinasangkot sa kasong sedisyon at sa sinasabing destabilisasyon laban sa administrasyong Duterte.
Ayon kay Former Ambassador to the Holy See Henrietta De Villa na kasalukuyang Pangulo ng MBG, pawang mga Spiritual Directors ng Mother Butler Guild (MBG) Diocesan Councils sina CBCP Vice President at Caloocan Bishop Pablo Virgilio David, Former CBCP President at Lingayen Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas, Cubao Bishop Honesto Ongtioco at Novaliches Bishop-Emeritus Teodoro Bacani Jr. na idinadawit sa kaso kasama ang iba pang mga kilalang kritiko ng administrasyon.
Iginiit ni De Villa na ang nasabing mga Obispo ay pawang matatapat na alagad ng Diyos na buong pusong naglilingkod upang magabayan ang bawat mamamayan sa tamang landas sa kabila ng mga pagsubok, pagdurusa at kalungkutan na dulot ng kasamaan sa lipunan.
Binigyan diin ni De Villa na tanging sa Panginoon ang katapatan ng naturang mga lingkod ng Simbahan na puspusang isinusulong ang misyon ni Hesus na mangaral ng Mabuting Balita at ipagtanggol ang katotohanan, katarungan, kapayapaan at karapatan sa buhay kasabay ng pagpapalalim ng pananampalataya at pagkakaisa ng bawat mamamayan sa lipunan.
“The Mother Butler Guild (MBG) expresses unconditional solidarity with our Bishops: Abp. Socrates B. Villegas, Bp. Pablo Virgilio S. David, Bp. Honesto F. Ongtioco and Bp. Teodoro C. Bacani,Jr. who are being charged w/sedition. All these Bishops are Spiritual Directors of our MBG Diocesan Councils. Knowing them as we do, it is beyond us to even imagine how they could possibly incite anyone to sedition. Our Bishops are men of God who manifest to all the primacy of love. They exhaust themselves to care for us and to accompany us in our joys and hope, our pains and anguish. Their faithfulness in following Christ and continuing his mission to preach and promote, to preserve and defend truth, justice, peace and the right to life and liberty contribute immensely, not just to strengthen the faith, but also to the well-being of society.”pahayag ni De Villa.
Bilang pagpapakita ng suporta sa pinagdadaanang pagsubok ng mga Obispo ng Simbahang Katolika ay inatasan ng Mother Butler Guild National Executive Board ang lahat ng mga opisyal at miyembro ng samahan na magdasal ng Santo Rosaryo mula ika-9 hanggang ika-15 ng Agosto, mag-ayuno at dumalo ng banal na misa sa Biyernes, ika-9 ng Agosto sa pagsisimula ng preliminary investigastion ng Department of Justice sa kasong sedisyon.

Samantala bukod sa katatagan ng mga lingkod ng Simbahan ay ipinapanalangin rin ng Mother Butler Guild ang paggabay ng Espiritu Santo sa mga hukom at sa mismong hukuman upang manaig ang katapatan at katotohanan sa paghahanap ng katarungan sa lipunan.
“We are grateful to God for the gift of our Bishops. On our knees we ask Our Lord to be their wonderful Counselor, their defense against falsehood and evil schemes. We beg the Holy Spirit to rest upon those who have authority for their trial to discharge their duty with wisdom, fairness and reverence for the truth.” Dagdag pa ni De Villa.
Ang Mother Butler Guild (MBG) ay itinatag noong 1961 at naging opisyal na miyembro ng Sangguniang Layko ng Pilipinas taong 1976 na sa kasalukuyan ay may 35-libo na ang kabuuang miyembro mula sa may 86 na diyosesis sa buong bansa.
Naunang nagpahayag ng suporta ang Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas, Association of Major Religious Superiors of the Philippines at Philippine Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services Incorporated sa mga inuusig na lider ng Simbahan.
