Nagalak ang Stella Maris Philippines sa paglaya ng 17-Filipino Seafarers ng M/V Galaxy Leader na nabihag ng Houthi rebels ng Yemen sa Red Sea noong 2023.
Ayon kay Stella Maris Philippines CBCP-Bishop Promoter Antipolo Bishop Ruperto Santos, patunay ang paglaya ng mga seafarer na bukod sa katatagan ng loob ay natutupad ang pananalangin at pananalig sa Panginoon.
“During these long months of uncertainty and trial, our spirits have been united in prayer, hope, and unwavering faith. The emotional burden borne by these seafarers and their families has been immense, and their steadfast courage and endurance have deeply moved us all. Their release brings joy and gratitude to our hearts and renews our faith in the power of prayer and divine intervention,” ayon sa mensaheng ipinadala ni Bishop Santos Radio Veritas.
Nagpapasalamat naman ang Obispo sa mga nakiisa sa mga panalangin, panawagan at pagsusulong na ligtas na mapauwi ang mga nabihag.
Nanawagan pa ang Obispo na ipagpatuloy ang pananalig sa Panginoong upang ligtas na makauwi ng Pilipinas ang 17-Filipino Seafarers na nasa pangangalaga na ng Philippine Embassy.
“We, at Stella Maris-Philippines, welcome our seafarers back. Let us surround them with love, understanding, and support as they heal from this experience and reintegrate into their communities. Let us, above all, give thanks to our almighty God, who guided them safely back to us. In this moment of profound gratitude and joy, let us continue to entrust our lives to God’s loving care, confident that His grace will always see us through,” bahagi pa ng mensahe ni Bishop Santos.
Nabihag ang 17 seafarers ng rebelde noong 2023.
Tiniyak din ni Bishop Santos ang patuloy na pananalangin at pag-aalay ng misa para sa mga mandaragat na naglalayag sa mga karagatan sa buong mundo.
