Pinangunahan ni Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Acting Chief Chaplain Father Colonel Daniel Taslip ang invocation at pagbabasbas sa opening ceremony ng 38th Philippine-United States of America Balikatan Exercises 2023.
Hiniling ng Pari sa Panginoon ang pagbabasbas at ikatatagumpay ng isasagawang Balikatan Exercises kasabay ng panalangin na maibahagi ng Pilipinas ang bukal na pakikitungo sa mga bumibisitang banyaga.
“Let you perpetual supper be upon key leaders to find those avenues for the largest training opportunities to master the art of jointness for security checks and humanitarian support, empower them with your divine truth and justice as they all uphold and defend the shared principles and democratic values that bind our nations and allies,” bahagi ng pananalangin ni Father Colonel Taslip.
Aabot sa 17,800 ang makikilahok na hanay ng Navy, Air Force at Army kung saan 5-libo ang magmumula sa Pilipinas habang aabot naman sa 12-libo ang magmumula sa Amerika kasama pa ang may 100 uniformed Personnel ng Australian Defense Force.
Inaasahan naman ni AFP Chief of Staff General Andres Centino ang pagtatagumpay at higit na pagkalinang ng kakakayahan ng mga magiging kabilang sa 2023 Balikatan Exercises.
“For the Armed Forces of the Philippines, in particular, this year’s Balikatan Exercise is most timely, as we fast-track the enhancement of our capabilities for maritime security and domain awareness, as well as our employment concept of newly acquired equipment and weapon systems under our modernization program and application of newly developed doctrines – with the end-in-view of projecting a credible defense posture,” bahagi ng Mensahe ni General Centino.
Ang mahigit tatlong Linggong Balikatan Exercise ay magkakaroon ng apat na bahagi ng pagsasanay ng Command Post Exercise, Cyber Defense Exercise, Field Training at Humanatarian Civic Assitance Exercises.
Layuning ng mga pagsasanay na mapatibay ang pangagalaga sa seguridad, counter cyber attack defense, pisikal na kakayahan ng uniformmed personnel at humanatarian response ng Pilipinas at Amerika.
Una ng kinilala ni Military Ordinariate of the Philippines Bishop Oscar Jaime Florencio ang pagdaraos ng mga joint training exercises upang mapatibay ang disaster response at pangangalaga sa seguridad ng AFP.
