Radio Veritas, the leading faith based am station in Mega Manila, supports the “Start the Healing” campaign of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) on November 5, 2017.

The station will pre-empt its program, Citizens by Good Example (CGE), to air live the Holy Mass at the EDSA shrine at 3:00pm to 4:00pm to be presided by CBCP President Archbishop Socrates Villegas with the theme, “Lord Heal our Land Sunday”.

“To launch this period of prayer for national healing, I invite you to attend the Mass at the EDSA Shrine on November 5, 2017 at three o’clock in the afternoon the hour of Divine Mercy. We are setting aside this day as the “Lord Heal our Land Sunday”. After the Mass, the image of Our Lady of Fatima that was brought by devotees to EDSA in the 1986 People Power revolt will be brought in a candlelight procession to the People Power monument a kilometer away from the EDSA Shrine” Arbp. Villegas said.

The “Start the Healing” campaign is the second phase of the call of the CBCP in praying for the victims of extra judicial killings in our country. It will run in a 33 day-period from November 5 until December 8, the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception.  This period prepares the public to make the act of consecration to the Immaculate Mother as the time to “Start the Healing”.

The first phase of the campaign runs from September 23 until November 1 to appeal for a season of mourning and prayers for the dead through the daily recitation of the rosary, church bell ringing and candle lighting at eight o’clock each night for the victims of the spreading culture of killings.

Radio Veritas President Rev Fr. Anton CT Pascual encourages the public to be part of the nationwide campaign through the station.

“To our brothers and sisters who will not be able to go in EDSA shrine, may we use all the outlets of Radio Veritas as instrument of God’s healing. Listen to the station of truth and witness this national healing and let our prayers be united in the mercy and love of Christ,” Fr. Pascual added.

During the 33-day campaign the church invites the faithful to pray the Holy Rosary and receive Holy Communion every day.
