Kinilala ni San Carlos Bishop Gerardo Alminaza ang pagdaraos ng International Labor Organization High Level Tripartite Mission (ILO-HLTM).
Ayon sa Obispo, na siya ring chairperson ng Church People Workers Solidarity (CWS), higit na mabibigyang prayoridad ng gawain ang pangangalaga sa buhay at mga ipinaglalaban ng sektor ng mga manggagawa.
“A good case for the coming High Level Tripartite Mission to the Philippines called by the International Labor Conference Committee on the Application of Standards (CAS) this coming January 23-27, 2023 which was originally set to take place in 2019 in order to look into the alarming spate of killings with impunity, of 43 trade union leaders, organizers and workers at that time, for three years, Philippine government evaded the ILO High Level Tripartite Mission,” ayon sa mensahe ng Obispo.
Muli ring binalikan ng Obispo ang red-tagging mula sa National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) na inilagay sa panganib ang buhay ng mga labor leaders at members.
Bukod sa isasagawang ILO-HLTM, muli ring nakiisa si Bishop Alminaza sa panawagan ng sektor ng mga manggagawa na buwagin kontrakwalisasyon, magpatupad ng nag-iisang national minimum wage at tunay na pangangalagaan ang buhay ng bawat isang kabilang sa sektor.
“The number of murdered workers has reached 56, with more cases of “searches” leading to alleged shootouts, trumped up charges leading to arrest and detention and enforced disappearances, just recently, warrants of arrests were served to two trade union leaders for alleged theft of the fire arm of a police officer, that supposedly occurred during a peaceful rally two years ago at the grounds of the Commission on Human Rights in UP Dliman, Quezon City—which is a freedom park,” bahagi pa ng mensahe ni Bishop Alminaza.
Ang ILO-HLTM ay ang pagsasagawa ng imbetigasyon sa mga kaso ng pagpaslang at paniniil sa hanay ng mga labor leaders at members na idadaos simula January 23 hanggang 27.
Makikiisa din ang mga labor groups katulad ng Kilusang Mayo Uno at Federation of Free Workers sa isasagawang imbestigasyon.
