Ito ang panawagan ni Cotabato Archbishop Orlando Cardinal Quevedo sa canonical coronation ni Nuestra Senora de Aranzazu sa Our Lady of Aranzazu Shrine, San Mateo, Rizal.
Sa kanyang homiliya, inihayag ng Kardinal ang panawagan ng Our Lady of Aranzazu sa lahat na ibahagi ang “loving service” sa mga nangangailangan tulad ng “divided at broken family, homeless street children, mga evacuees sa Marawi, Iligan, Cagayan de Oro at Maguindanao gayundin sa mga batang na-trauma ng karahasan at mga dumaranas ng kahirapan.
“See where the kind of loving service is needed. Service is needed in divided and broken family, in homeless street children, in evacuees of the Marawi, Iligan, Cagayan de Oro, Maguindanao, in children traumatize by violence, service is needed in the poor of your own neighborhood. And Our Lady and her son are calling us to help them in any way we can. Do not wait for summon to help. Volunteer your talent. Volunteer your treasure. This is the practical implication of crowning our Lady of Aranzazu”.mensahe ni Cardinal Quevedo.
Sinusugan ni Cardinal Quevedo na sa kasalukuyan ay nababalot ng specter of terrorism, hatred, hostility, prejudices, biases at kadiliman ang Pilipinas.
Tinukoy ni Cardinal Quevedo ang pagkakaibigan at mabuting samahan ng mga Kristiyano, Muslim at Indigenous people sa Mindanao ay sinira ng “terrorist ideology o tinatawag na “demonic ideology”.
“The specter of terrorism of hatred and hostility of prejudices and biases, the specter of darkness is talking our beloved land. The friendship of Muslim and Christians and indigenous people in Mindanao a friendship shown in the streets and markets in offices and schools is being destroyed by a terrorist ideology that asserts the morality and killing another in the name of God. Ayon kay Cardinal Quevedo, ang “violence of terrorism” ay lumilikha ng matinding pag-alala at takot sa mga residente ng Mindanao lalo na sa Marawi city.
Sinabi ng Kardinal na dahil sa kaguluhan at katiwalian ay patuloy na nababalam ang pag-unlad at lalong lumalala ang kahirapan sa rehiyon.
Binigyan diin naman ni Cardinal Quevedo na higit na kailangan ng mga mananampalataya ang Mahal na Ina, Nuestra Senora de Aranzazu para makapitan sa nararanasang terorismo, takot, kadiliman at kahirapan sa kasalukuyan.
“The true believers in Islam had condemned this ideology and this violence of terrorism is creating the greatest of fear and anxiety in Mindanao. Hundreds die in Mindanao in the hands of rebel of different types, in the hands of terrorists, of drug lords and drug pushers, powerful people against the law of the land through corruption and dishonesty aggravating poverty and development. We need our Lady, we need her son and yet we need also to look our self brothers and sisters.” bahagi ng homiliya ni Cardinal Quevedo.
Hinikayat ni Cardinal Quevedo ang mamamayan na hilingin kay Our Lady of Aranzazu at kanyang infant son na hilumin ang brokenness at karahasan sa bansa.
“Let us thank the Holy Father for this extraordinary blessing. Return to our lady and her infant son. Let us beg them to heal the brokenness and violence in our land. Let us beg them to bring peace, unity, and integrity to our country. Let them be the queen and the king of our minds and hearts. Give us the grace to power them in serving you to do what love demands for the sake of our brothers and sisters,”panawagan ni Cardinal Quevedo.
