Tiniyak ng Archdiocese of Nueva Caceres ang pakikipagtulungan sa pulisya at ang pagsasagawa ng sariling imbestigasyon hinggil sa pagkakabilang ng isa sa kanilang pari bilang ‘person of interest’ sa natagpuan bangkay ng isang babae sa San Fernando, Camarines Norte.
Sa inilabas na pahayag ni Fr. Darius Romualdo, Chancellor ng Archdiocese of Caceres, ikinagulat nila ang pagkakaugnay sa krimen ng kanilang pari.
“We are deeply troubled that, in media reports, a priest has been alluded to us a person of interest,” bahagi ng pahayag.
Sa ulat ng Bicol Standard, natagpuan ang bangkay ng biktimang si Jeraldyn Bulalacao Rapinan sa damuhang bahagi ng Barangay Del Pilar, San Fernando, Camarines Sur noong June 15.
Ang itinuturong pari ay sinasabing karelasyon ng biktima base sa testimonya ng pinsan nito.
“We hold the report very serious. The Archdiocese supports and will fully cooperate with the thorough investigation of the case by the proper authority,” ayon pa sa pahayag na inilabas ng Archdiocese of Caceres.
Nagpahatid rin ng kanilang pakikiramay ang arkidiyosesis ng Nueva Caceres sa pamilya ng biktima at tiniyak ang panalangin na kagyat na makamit ang katarungan.
“The Archdiocese, at this moment, is conducting its own investigation and will take appropriate action in accordance with the Code of Canon Law. At this time that we are searching for truth, we ask for prayers and prudence. We assure the family of the victim of our prayers and support in the search for justice,” ayon pa sa pahayag.
