Umaapela si Military Ordinariate of the Philippines Bishop Oscar Jaime Florencio sa mamamayan na iwaksi ang pagsisisihan at paigtingin ang pangangalaga sa kalikasan. Ayon sa Obispo, mapapawi lamang ang pangamba at negatibong epekto ng bagyong Carina sa pagtutulungan ng bawat isa.
“It pains me to hear that we are again on this calamity brought about by low pressure are (LPA) and typhoons, many people again are victims and victims to the highest degree. I know that sometime they are because of what they have done – meaning their dispositions towards our environment. This should not bring us to accusing one another, let us rather work together for care of our common home. Dalangin ni Bishop Florencio ang pagtigil ng malakas na ulan at paghupa ng baha na nakakaapekto sa kabuhayan at tahanan ng mamamayan. Hiniling ng Obispo sa panginoon na iligtas sa kapahamakan ang mamamayan lalu na ang ‘most vulnerable sector’.
“I hope and pray that this flooding now will not bring about damages to our poor people and to everyone. Let us work together because this is the legacy that we shall leave behind to the incoming generation. God bless us all,” ayon pa sa mensaheng ipinadala ni Bishop Florencio sa Radio Veritas.
Bunsod ng malakas na pag-ulan at hangin na nagdulot ng pagbaha sa Metro Manila at karatig lalawigan ay idineklara ng Metro Manila Council sa state of calamity ang National Capital Region.
