Ikinagalak ng National Economic Development Authority ang patuloy na paglago ng ekonomiya.
Ito ay matapos maitala sa 5.6% ang kabuoang paglago ng Gross Domestic Product growth rate para sa taong 2023.
“While this growth is below our target of 6 to 7 percent for this year, this keeps us in the position of being one of the best-performing economies in Asia. Among those that have already released their Q4 2023 real GDP growth figures, we follow Vietnam (6.7 percent) while surpassing China (5.2 percent)and Malaysia (3.4 percent).” ayon sa mensahe ni NEDA Secretary Arsenio Balisacan.
Pangako ng kalihim ang pagpapatuloy ng pamahalaan sa ilalim ng adbokasiyang ‘BAGONG PILIPINAS’ na palaguin ang ekonomiya ng Pilipinas at mapabuti ang lagay ng mamamayan.
Ito ay sa pamamagitan na panghihimok sa mga foreign investors na mamuhunan sa Pilipinas upang patuloy na lumago ang GDP, kasabay ito ng pagkakaroon ng mas maraming oportunidad ng trabaho para sa mga manggagawa.
“Today, the NEDA will be releasing to the public the Philippine Development Report or PDR 2023. The PDR identifies the major programs, projects, and policies begun and implemented in the past year or in 2023. As an evidenced based report, it evaluates our country’s performance concerning the outcome indicators identified in the PDP and includes updates on the Marcos Administration’s legislative agenda. ,” bahagi pa ng mensahe ng ni Balisacan.
Naunang kinundena ng Ibon Foundation ang patuloy na pag-uulat ng pamahalaan ng paglago ng ekonomiya sa kabila ng tumataas na bilang ng mga mahihirap sa Pilipinas.
Ayon kay Sonny Africa, executive director ng Ibon Foundation, ang pag-aaral sa 3rd quarter ng taong 2023 kung saan tumaas ng 1.7-porsiyento na katumbas ng 825-libong pamilya o 47-milyong Pilipino ang nakakaranas ng kahirapan.
