Hinimok ng Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines – Episcopal Commission on Migrants and Itinerant People (CBCP-ECMI) ang bawat isa na paigtingin ang pakikiisa sa mga migrante at refugees.
Ayon kay CBCP-ECMI Vice-chairman at Stella Maris Philippines CBCP Bishop Promoter Antipolo Bishop Ruperto Santos, ito ay upang maisabuhay ang panawagan ni Pope Francis sa paggunita ng ‘World Migrants and Refugees Day’ sa Oktubre.
Panawagan ni Bishop Santos sa mga mananampalataya na kilalanin ang mga migrante at refugees na mga kapatid at agents of hope.
“Pope Francis, in his wisdom and compassion, has reminded us of our shared humanity and the importance of extending a hand to those in need. As we witness the global movements of people seeking refuge and a better life, we are urged to see beyond the labels of “migrant” or “refugee” and recognize them as our brothers and sisters, bearers of hope and agents of change,” ayon sa mensaheng ipinadala ni Bishop Santos sa Radio Veritas.
Sinabi ng Obispo na ang katatagang loob na isinasabuhay ng mga migrante at refugees na umalis sa kanilang bansa dahil sa kaguluhan at paghahanap ng bagong oportunidad sa buhay.
Ipinagdarasal ni Bishop Santos na paigtingin ng buong mundo ang pagtanggap lalo na sa mga refugees at migrante upang mabigyan ang sila ng pagkakataong magsimula bagong buhay.
“Let us remember that our faith calls us to welcome the stranger, to love our neighbor, and to be instruments of God’s peace and hope in the world. As we reflect on the theme “Migrants, Missionaries of Hope,” may we be moved to act with kindness, to advocate for policies that protect and uplift the vulnerable, and to build a world where all can live in peace and dignity,” ayon pa sa mensaheng ipinadala ni Bishop Santos sa Radio Veritas.
Sa October 4-5 ipagdiriwang nang simbahan at sa buong mundo ang World Day of Migrants and Refugees na ngayong 2025 ayon sa Vatican Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development ay itinalaga ng Kaniyang Kabanalang Francisco sa temang ‘Missionaries of Hope’.
