Pinarating ni Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippine Archbishop Charles Brown ang mensahe ng pag-asa sa pamumuno ni Pope Leo XIV sa simbahang katolika.
Ito ang buod ng homiliya ni Archbishop Brown sa pagdiriwang ng Pope’s Day sa Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception o Manila Cathedral.
Ayon sa Arsobispo, ang pag-asa ay bunsod sa pagpili ni Papa Leon ika labing-apat sa papal name mula sa mga Santo Papang kilala sa paninindigan laban sa pang-uusig at para sa mga kawan na ginagabayan tungo sa Panginoon.
“And now Pope Leo XIV calling us to be vigilant in the face of the rapid development of Information Technology especially Artificial Intelligence, in each case, a Pope named “Leo” has reaffirmed the basic Catholic principle – that the proper and just ordering of society is of great importance also in the light of eternity, our heavenly destination,” ayon sa pagninilay ni Archbishop Brown.
Inaasahan din ng Arsobispo na sa pamumuno ni Papa Leon XIV, katulad ni Pope Leo XIII sa kaniyang Ensiklikal na Rerum Novarum ay higit na mabigyang pansin sa mundo ang pagbibigay ng katarungan panlipunan, pagpapahalaga sa dignidad ng buhay at karapatan ng mga manggagawa.
Ito ay upang sama-samang mapaunlad ang lipunan at mapabuti ang kalagayan ng mga pinakanangangailangan dahil tanda ito ng tunay na pagmamahal sa kapwa bilang kristiyano.
“The Philippines can be proud of the fact that on matter the right to life of a human being, from conception to natural death, and in the nature of family, the Philippines respects the Natural Law, and in addition, Pope Leo XIV also once again mentioned the pressing issue of Artificial Intelligence, in the 5th century encounter of Pope Leo the Great and Attila we can see a symbol of the Church confronting the power of this world, a church that goes forth without any weapons except the truth of the Gospel and the witness of Holiness,” ayon pa sa mensahe ni Archbishop Brown.
Nakasamang magdiwang ng Pope’s Day Mass ni Archbishop Brown sina Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula, mga Kaparian ng Archdiocese of Manila at mga kasamang Pari sa Papal Nunciature.
