Nanawagan ang Catholic Bishop Conference of the Philippines na bantayan at tugunan ang pangangailangan ng mga Overseas Filipino Worker at kanilang pamilya.
Ito ang apela ni Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines -Episcopal Commission for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People Chairman Puerto Princesa Palawan Bishop Socrates Mesiona sa bawat Diocesan Migrant Office sa Pilipinas at sa ibayong dagat.
Hinimok din ng Obispo ang migrant office ng simbahan na pangalagaan ang kapakanan at espiritwal na pangangailangan ng pamilya ng OFWs na naiwan sa Pilipinas.
“I humbly appeal each of your diocesan migrant offices or equivalent structures to monitor the situation of OFW families within your jurisdiction and extend concrete pastoral care. This may include spiritual accompaniment, sacramental ministry, community outreach, and coordination with your local Caritas and Local Government Units to address both immediate needs and long-term resilience,” ayon sa mensahe ni Bishop Mesiona na pinadala ng CBCP-ECMI sa Radyo Veritas.
Ipinag-utos din ni Bishop Messiona ang pina-igting na pananalangin para maghari ang kapayapaan sa gitnang Silangan na nagdudulot ng kagutuman sa mga bansang apektado ng patuloy na pagtaas sa presyo ng mga prodkuktong petrolyo.
Nakikipagtulungan din ang CBCP-ECMI sa Department of Migrants Workers (DMW) at pamahalaan na sinisikap pauwiin sa Pilipinas ang mga Pilipinong nanganganib ang buhay dahil sa digmaan sa Middle East na resulta ng away ng Iran at Estados Unidos.
“The protracted conflict in the Middle East continues unabated, inflicting profound suffering on countless innocent lives. As we are all too aware, it is the ordinary people civilians, families, and vulnerable workers-who bear the heaviest burden in such tragedies. Among them are our Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), present in significant numbers across the region, many of whom now find themselves in dire straits, separated from loved ones and facing uncertainty,” ayon pa sa mensahen ni Bishop Mesiona.
