Iginawad ng Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines o CEAP ang 2026 Most Inspiring Small Schools Award sa Sta. Rafaela Maria School of Naga City at Our Lady of Guadalupe School of Lacub sa Abra.
Kinilala ng CEAP ang dalawang paaralan dahil sa kanilang makabuluhang ambag sa Catholic education, higit na sa larangan ng faith formation, community service, inclusivity, at paglilingkod sa mga komunidad na may limitadong resources.
Ayon sa CEAP, natatangi ang Sta. Rafaela Maria School sa Naga City dahil sa makabagong paraan nito ng faith formation, kabilang ang araw-araw na Eucharistic adoration ng mga mag-aaral, lingguhang adoration ng mga guro kasama ang mga madre, charitable outreach, environmental programs, at mga programa para sa paghubog ng pananampalataya ng mga pamilya.
Kapansin-pansin din ang tuition-free education ng paaralan na sinusuportahan sa pamamagitan ng pledge-based contribution system, kung saan nagbibigay ang mga magulang ayon sa kanilang kakayahan na ganitong paraan, naipagpapatuloy ang edukasyong Katoliko nang hindi nagiging hadlang ang kalagayang pinansyal ng mga pamilya.

Rafaela Maria School demonstrates innovation in faith formation and inclusivity through its Eucharistic activities, charitable outreach, parents’ formation programs, environmental initiatives, and unique pledge-based contribution system. Pupils participate in daily adoration while teachers join weekly adoration with the Sisters, fostering a strong culture of prayer and devotion. The school actively supports the charitable institution Gift of Love and implements programs designed to strengthen family faith and values, ensuring that Catholic education extends into the home. It also promotes stewardship of creation through Care for the Common Home activities,” ayon sa mensahe ng CEAP hinggil sa paggagawad ng parangal.
Samantala, kinilala naman ang Our Lady of Guadalupe School of Lacub sa Abra dahil sa katatagan at faith-driven service nito sa isang liblib na komunidad sa kabundukan dahil karamihan sa mga mag-aaral nito ay mula sa tatlong indigenous peoples communities.
Bukod sa pagtuturo, aktibong nakikibahagi ang paaralan sa environmental activities, prayer services, liturgical ministry, at barrio missions sa mga malalayong komunidad na limitado ang access sa mga simbahan. Nagbibigay rin ito ng libreng dormitory accommodation para sa mga guro at mag-aaral na nagmumula sa labas ng bayan.
“Another distinct feature is the free dormitory accommodation provided for teachers from outside the municipality and students from nearby towns, offering them a safe and supportive place to stay. The school community also actively participates in the parish’s barrio missions, helping with Holy Mass celebrations in far-flung communities where access to churches is limited. Through these activities, students are given meaningful opportunities to take part in the missionary work of the Church,” bahagi pa ng mensahe ng CEAP sa naging paggagawad ng parangal.
Ayon sa CEAP, ipinapakita ng dalawang paaralan na kahit maliit at limitado ang resources, maaaring maging instrumento ang Catholic education sa pagpapalalim ng pananampalataya, paglilingkod sa kapwa, at pagbabago ng komunidad.
Iginawad ang parangal sa pakikipagtulungan ng CEAP sa mission partner nitong Scuola Enterprises, Inc. sa ginanap na CEAP National Convention o SUGBU 2026.
