Nagtulungan ang Cooperative Development Authority, National Confederation of Cooperatives, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, VISA Philippines, Aflatoun International at mga Youth and Financial Advocates sa pagsusulong at pagpapalawak sa financial literacy program sa Pilipinas.
Nagsanib puwersa ang mga financial advocates sa paggunita ng Global Money Week upang paigtingin ang financial literacy initiatives sa mga paaralan, institusyon at kooperatiba ngayong taon.
“The part of cooperation of cooperatives, the content is already embedded like for example before a person becomes a member there is a pre-membership seminar, where financial education starts and before members can access loans, another financial education will happened based on the documents that the borrower gives to the coops,” ayon sa panayam ng Radio Veritas kay CDA Assistant Secretary Luz Yringco.
Partikular na layunin ng inisyatibo na maabot ang mga kabataan at mapalalim ang kanilang kaalamang hinggil sa wastong paghawak ng kanilang pera.
Ngayong taon ay ginunita ang Global Money Week sa temang ‘Protect your Money, Secure your Future’ upang bigyan diin ang kahagalagahan ng pagiging matalino sa pangangalaga ng mamamayan sa kanilang kita at naiipong pera.
“So learning does have to go beyond the classrooms, like we are very happy to work with the partners like ‘Teach for the Philippines’ to make sure that the education systems and the services in the community we’ll be able to bring financial literacy into classroom learning’s, beyond that we have worked with also different partners to create dignified content so that financial literacy can be a part of what young people are dealing with their daily lives,” ayon naman sa panayam ng Radio Veritas kay Visa Vice President of Inclusive Impact & Sustainability for Asia Pacific Patsian Low.
Tiniyak din ng mga opisyal ng ahensya ang paggamit sa financial literacy upang isa sa mga mabibisang paraan upang makaahon sa kahirapan ang mamamayan sa pamamagitan ng sapat na kaalaman sa paghawak ng pera.
Ang pagsusulong sa financial literacy ay bahagi din ng programa ng iba’t-ibang Church cooperatives sa Pilipinas maging ang Economy of Francesco Movement.
