• Bishop-elect Enrique V. Macaraeg was born on December 28, 1955 in Manila. He is one of the seven children of Isidro Macaraeg and Resurreccion de Vera.

• He was ordained priest by then Archbishop of Lingayen-Dagupan, Most Rev. Federico Limon, SVD, DD on May 19, 1979.
• He took his basic education at Malasiqui Central School and Mary Help of Christians Minor Seminary.

• He pursued philosophy and theology at the University of Santo Tomas Central Seminary in Manila.

• After his ordination, he took up studies in Oriental Religions and Cultures at the UST Graduate School.

• He was a member of the team of seminary formators at San Pablo Seminary in Baguio City and the Mary Help of Christians College Seminary in Dagupan City.

• He has also rendered priestly ministry in various parishes such as Our Lady of Fatima in Quezon City, Saint Thomas Aquinas in Mangaldan, Epiphany of the Lord in Lingayen, Holy Family Parish in Santa Barbara and eventually in Saint Ildephonse Parish in Malasiqui, Pangasinan.

• He also served as School Director in the following educational institutions: Saint John’s Cathedral School in Dagupan City, Saint Charles Academy in San Carlos City, Urbiztondo Catholic School, Malasiqui Catholic School, Santo Thomas Catholic School and Saint Vincent Catholic School in Bayambang.

• Prior to his appointment as bishop on March 31, 2016, Bishop Macaraeg was Vicar General and Vice Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan.

• The Diocese of Tarlac comprises the whole civil province of Tarlac in the Philippines. Before its creation on February 16, 1963, the province belonged to two different territories, the Diocese of San Fernando and the Diocese of Lingayen-Dagupan. Today, the diocese is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of San Fernando in Pampanga.

• St. Sebastian is the titular patron of the Diocese of Tarlac. It has an estimated population of 1, 243, 449, with 887, 089 Catholics. The Diocese has 52 parishes under 7 vicariates. Among its Catholic institutions are a seminary, a formation house, a catechetical center and an orphanage. Educational centers administered by the Diocese are the following: 1 college, 11 high schools, and 11 elementary schools.
