As the Catholic Church in the Philippines embarks on its sixth year of spiritual journey towards 2021 for the 500th year of the anniversary of the arrival of Christianity in the country, the leading faith-based AM station in the country is intensifying its efforts to bring Jesus to every Catholic home.
Veritas 846 Radio Totoo is set to roll out new programs and efforts to reach more Catholic Filipinos as the Philippine Church marks the Year of the Clergy and Consecrated Persons, with the theme “Renewed Servant Leaders for New Evangelization.”
To fulfill this mission, Radio Veritas is continuously addressing the issue on the 71 million “unchurched” Filipino Catholic through their campaign “Veritas 500: Bringing Jesus to every Catholic Home.”
Veritas 500 is a five-year program that aims to spread and witness the love, truth, and justice through new “ardor, methods and expression” in radio, television, new media and Catholink, the Catholic information hub run by Radio Veritas.
To fulfill this mission, Radio Veritas is continuously addressing the issue on the 71 million “unchurched” Filipino Catholic through their campaign “Veritas 500: Bringing Jesus to every Catholic Home.”
Veritas 500 is a five-year program that aims to spread and witness the love, truth, and justice through new “ardor, methods and expression” in radio, television, new media and Catholink, the Catholic information hub run by Radio Veritas.
The station is also set to partner with several AM radio stations in stations in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao to enable listeners from all over the country to listen to the station’s religious programming, healing and counseling, Church advocacies and social concerns, masses, liturgical services, and prayers.
In turn, the Catholic faithful are again being encouraged to continue contributing the amount of 500 pesos for the “balikhandog” in the remaining four years of the nine-year spiritual journey to 2021. Each 500 pesos “balik handog” will help reach 480 inactive catholic faithful back to our parish communities (based on the population and number of barangays in the Philippines according to the Philippine Statistics Authority).
“As we continue our journey towards the fifth centenary of the arrival of faith to our shores, we us also continue supporting Radio Veritas in its efforts to reach more Catholics, especially those who are the least, the lost and the last. Your Catholic station this year will focus more on understanding the crucial role of the clergy and religious in the life of the Church,” Radio Veritas president Fr. Anton CT Pascual said.
Radio Veritas 846 is owned and operated by the Archdiocese of Manila. Established in 1969, the Ramon Magsaysay recipient Catholic radio station continues to be the leading social communications ministry for truth and new evangelization in the country today.
