Nagbabala ang Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) laban sa mga nagpapakalat ng malisyosong impormasyon sa internet at social media.
Kaugnay ito sa insidente ng ransomware attack o hacking sa website ng PhilHealth noong Setyembre 22 na nakaapekto sa sistema ng ahensya partikular na sa member portal, health care institution (HCI) portal, at e-claims.
Batid ni PhilHealth President at CEO Emmanuel Ledesma, Jr., na nagdulot ito ng pangamba at pagkabahala sa mga miyembro ng state health insurer sa posibilidad na makuha ng mga mapagsamantala ang mga personal na impormasyon.
“We condemn this act in the strongest terms possible. Acts like these, committed by criminals with malicious intent, are inexcusable and are detrimental not only to PhilHealth but also to our members and the public,” pahayag ni Ledesma.
Nilinaw naman ng opisyal na agad itong tinugunan ng ahensya at tiniyak na ligtas ang lahat ng datos at impormasyong nakalagay sa sistema ng PhilHealth.
Sa kasalukuyan, balik na muli sa normal ang operasyon ng PhilHealth website habang patuloy na iniimbestigahan ang insidente katuwang ang Department of Information and Communications Technology, National Privacy Commission, National Bureau of Investigation, at Philippine National Police.
“It’s essential to remain vigilant in the coming days, as we anticipate that the group behind this attack may attempt to release distorted information through various channels. Their intention is to portray themselves as heroes, which we must guard against,” saad ni Ledesma.
Hinikayat naman ni Ledesma ang publiko na maging mapagmatyag sa anumang kahina-hinalang impormasyon na makikita sa social media, at agad na ipagbigay-alam sa PhilHealth at DICT sa email na [email protected] o [email protected].
Pinapaalalahanan naman ng simbahan ang publiko na mag-ingat laban sa iba’t ibang uri ng scam o panloloko na layong manlinlang at makapanghamak ng kapwa.
