Pormal na nagsimula Ngayong araw ang ika-39 Balikatan exercises sa pagitan ng Armed Forces of the Philippines,United States of America, Australia at France.
Isinagawa ang opening ceremony ng Balikatan exercises 2024 sa Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon city ngayong ika-22 ng Abril kung saan pinangunahan ni USA Marine Baptist Chaplain Captain Fred Holcombe ang pananalangin.
Hiniling ni Capt.Holcombe ang paggabay ng panginoon para sa tagumpay ng pagsasanay sa pagitan ng hukbong sandatahan ng Pilipinas at Amerika.
“Today we welcome your presence here in the ceremony in the Balikatan 39th 2024, Father we ask that you lay your hands on all our leaders and all of our service members as we go about the art of war, may you continue to guide us, protect us and Father build strong relationships between all of our countries, ask this in the powerful name of the savious who saves, Amen,” panalangin ni Holcombe sa pagsisimula ng Balikatan exercises.
Tiniyak naman ni AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo Brawner na sa pamamagitan ng 39th Balikatan Exercises ay magkakaroon ng malawak na kasanayan ang mga sundalo at paggalang ng bawat bansa sa international laws.
“This exercise represents the essence of unity, collective responsibility and enduring partnership between the republic of the Philippines and the United States of America and our partners, it is not a partnership of convenience, but rather a clear reflection of our shared history, unwavering commitment to democracy and respect for international law in our pursuit of peace and security in the indo-pacific region,” ayon sa mensahe ni General Brawner.
Nanindigan naman si Philippine Balikatan Exercise Director Major.General Marvin Licudine at USA Exercises Director Lt. General William Jurney na higit na maisusulong sa pagsasanay ang pagsasabuhay ng demokrasya at pangangalaga sa kapayapaan at seguridad ng Pilipinas.
Bukod sa mga pagsasanay sa pangangalaga ng seguridad, idadaaos din ang pangangalaga ng cyber security, humanitarian civic assistance at pagpapalalim sa kaalaman ng mga sundalo sa paggalang ng international laws. 16-libo ang mga sundalong kabilang sa Balikatan Exercises mula sa hanay ng Army, Navy at Air Force ng Pilipinas, Amerika, Australia at France.
