Hinamon ni Kalookan Bishop Pablo Virgilio Cardinal David ang Catholic digital missionaries na higit sa pagiging influencers, maging mga saksi ni Kristo sa digital world.
Sa kanyang homily sa Closing Mass and Rites of Commissioning ng Asian Catholic Digital Missionary Assembly 2026, binigyang-diin ni Cardinal David na hindi dapat followers, likes o visibility ang maging sukatan ng kanilang misyon, kundi ang pagbuo ng tunay na ugnayan at pagdadala sa mga tao tungo kay Kristo.
“The digital world is not merely a collection of tools that we use, it has become a culture, a place where people meet, suffer, hope, and search for God, Do not go into that world merely as content creators, but go there as missionaries who listen before reacting, judging, or waiting for their turn to speak.”
Hinikayat niya ang mga digital missionaries na makinig bago magsalita o humusga, lalo na sa mga boses na madalas hindi napapakinggan, at gamitin ang online platforms upang lumikha ng mga espasyo ng pagkikita, pagkakaunawaan at pagkakaisa.
Iginiit din ng obispo na ang taong nasa kabilang screen, kahit hindi kasundo o may ibang pananaw, ay hindi kaaway kundi kapatid na dapat tratuhin nang may dignidad.
Binigyang-diin ni Cardinal David na ang tunay na digital missionary ay hindi lamang content creator kundi isang missionary disciple, tagapakinig, kasama at tagapagtayo ng tulay, upang manaig ang pagkakaisa at pag-asa sa halip na galit at pagkakahati.
“The internet can connect millions of people and still leave them terribly lonely, while algorithms gather people into groups only to divide them into hostile camps, Your mission is not simply to gather followers, it is rather to build relationships, to create spaces of encounter, and to help people journey together,” ayon sa pagninilay ni Cardinal David.
