Fr. Mission, tinanggap ang pagiging national director ng Stella Maris Philippines

Buong kababaang loob na tinanggap ni Fr. John Mission ng Archdiocese of Cebu ang paghirang ng Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines bilang bagong National Director ng Stella Maris – Philippines.

Inamin ng Pari sa Radio Veritas na isang malaking responsibilidad ang kaakibat ng pagkatalaga subalit naniniwala itong magampanan niya ang misyon sa pagtutulungan ng kapwang naglilingkod sa maritime ministry.

“I am humbled by the task entrusted to me by the CBCP as National Director of Stella Maris – Philippines since it is concretely a huge responsibility and mission for the next three years to carry on. But with the guidance and support of our Bishop Promoter Most Reverend Ruperto C. Santos and the collaboration of the rest of the chaplains and lay workers of the ministry of Stella Maris Philippines, I believe, we can do better things for the welfare of the people of the sea whom we are serving.” pahayag ni Fr. Mission.

Si Fr. Mission ang kahalili ni Msgr. Eutequiano Legitimas na kasalukuyang namumuno sa Stella Maris Center ng Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro.
Nanilbihan ang pari bilang Chaplain at Executive Director ng Stella Maris Seafarers’ Center-Cebu Foundation, Inc sa loob ng halos isang dekada at aktibo sa pagmimisyon sa pangangailangan ng mga seafarers, fisher folks gayundin ang kani-kanilang mga pamilya.

Dalangin ng pari na sa pamamagitan ng Mahal na Birhen ay magampanan ang tungkuling paglingkuran ang mga seafarers at fisherfolks.

“I am praying though that through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Star of the Sea and Saint John Baptist Scalabrini, Father of Migrants, Refugees and Seafarers, the Triune God will continue to bestow his mercy and love upon all of us working in the maritime apostolate and those entrusted to our pastoral care.” ani Fr. Mission.

Sa Pilipinas may nakatalagang 14 na port chaplains na naglilingkod sa iba’t ibang daungan sa bansa at nagbibigay kalinga sa halos kalahating milyong Filipino seafarers sa mundo o katumbas sa 1/3 ng kabuuang populasyon ng maritime industry.
