Isasagawa ng Caritas Manila ang Youth Servant Leadership and Education Program Telethon o YSLEP telethon 2024 sa Lunes, ika-24 ng Hulyo July 15 sa himpilan ng Radio Veritas 846 simula ala-siete ng umaga hanggang ala-sais ng gabi.
Tema ng YSLEP telethon 2024 ang ‘Empowering Youth Servant Leaders: Guided by Service, Inspired by Purpose’ na ilalaan sa patuloy na pagpapaaral ng mga YSLEP scholars sa iba’t-ibang bahagi ng bansa.
Ayon kay Father Anton CT Pascual – Pangulo ng Radio Veritas at Executive Director ng Caritas Manila, ang fund raising campaign ay adbokasiya ng social arm ng Archdiocese of Manila na gamitin ang edukasyon bilang mabisang paraan upang makaahon sa kahirapan ang mga mahihirap na pamilya.
“Investing for a brighter future is empowering the youth of today as servant leaders which involves guiding them to lead by serving others, with a strong sense of purpose and dedication to their community. It requires a collective effort from individuals, businesses, governments, and non-profit organizations. By prioritizing our poor youth’s education, we can build a better country where everyone thrives including our poor communities,” mensahe ni Fr.Pascual
Inaanyayahan ng Pari ang mamamayang Pilipino na makiisa sa YSLEP telethon 2024 sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng donasyon para sa kinabukasan ng mga mahihirap na kabataan na makapagtapos ng pag-aaral at makahanap ng disenteng trabaho.
Ibinahagi ni Fr.Pascual na sa pamamagitan ng programa ay nakapagtapos ang 1,270 mag-aaral para sa school year 2023-2024.
Sa kasalukuyan, mayroong mahigit sa 5,000 ang YSLEP scholar ng Caritas Manila sa iba’t-ibang bahagi ng bansa na kinabibilangan ng mga Muslim at Kristiyano.
