Nagkasundo ang Department of National Defense ng Pilipinas at Australia sa pagpapatibay ng cybersecurity.
Nabuo ang kasunduan matapos ang pagpupulong sa pagitan ni DND Undersecretary for Capability Assessment and Development Angelito M. De Leo at Australian Ambassador for Cyber Affairs and Critical Technology Brendan Dowling.
Patitibayin ang cybersecurity sa pamamagitan ng joint training sa cyber security ng mga sundalo ng dalawang bansa.
“Both sides highlighted areas of cooperation such as information sharing on policies and best practices, innovations in information and communication technology, and organizing joint cyber drills and tabletop exercises. The discussions also covered possible defense technological cooperation such as building a skilled cyber defense workforce through exchange programs and workshops, research and development, among others,” ayon sa mensaheng ipinadala ng DND sa Radio Veritas.
Inihayag naman ni DND Office for Cyber and Information System Management Director Christine June Cariño na isasakatuparan ang kasunduan sa pagtatatag ng Cyber Strategy and Policy Department na pangangasiwaan ng Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Tiniyak naman ni Dowling ang pagkakaroon ng kanilang bansa ng ‘whole of nation approach’ para sa cyber security.
“The Australian delegation reiterated its commitment to collaborating with the DND and the AFP to build enduring cyber resilience and strengthen technology security in the region, offering capacity-building opportunities to further enhance the bilateral partnership on cyber affairs and critical technology cooperation, the meeting concluded with both countries reaffirming the significance of the Philippines-Australia alliance and their shared commitment to enhancing cyber defense and ensuring the security and stability of the region,” ayon pa sa mensaheng ipinadala ng DND sa Radio Veritas.
Ang cyber security ay isa sa mga sangay ng AFP at DND na nangangalaga sa mahahalagang impormasyon ng Pilipinas na iniimbak sa cyber o digital space tulad ng kinakaharap na suliranin sa hacking.
Kaugnay ng pagtutulungan, hinihimok ng Kaniyang Kabanalang Francisco sa mga lider ng mundo na unahin ang pagkakaisa at iwaksi na ang anumang hindi pagkakaintindihan.
