Inilunsad ng Office of Civil Defense (OCD) ang web application na layong matulungan ang local government units na mapabilis at mapabuti ang proseso ng rehabilitasyon sa panahon ng sakuna.
Ang PlanSmart Ready to Rebuild web application-ay isang automated planning tool na magsisilbing gabay sa mga paraan ng pagpaplano para sa disaster risk reduction and management sa bansa.
Umaasa si National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council executive director at Civil Defense Administrator Undersecretary Raymundo Ferrer na malaki ang maitutulong ng web application lalo’t ang bansa ay madalas makaranas ng iba’t ibang kalamidad.
“This app, which will systematically generate RRPs [rehabilitation and recovery plans] using science-based information and pro-forma templates, will significantly help LGUs plan for quick and resilient recovery,” pahayag ni Ferrer.
Ang PlanSmart application ay proyekto ng Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), NDRRMC, at OCD sa pakikipagtulungan ng World Bank.
Ito ay offshoot o sangay ng GeoRiskPH Integrated Platform na binuo ng DOST at ng Ready to Rebuild (R2R) Program na pinangungunahan ng OCD.
“Through PlanSmart, it is my vision that we will have a geospatially-enabled Philippines where we evaluate data, time and location together for better analysis and decision-making,” paliwanag ni DOST Secretary Renato Solidum Jr.
Sa pilot run, nilalayon ng training program na mabigyan ang nasa higit 400 kalahok mula 137 LGUs sa National Capital Region, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, Central Visayas, at CARAGA.
Una ng hinikayat ng Kanyang Kabanalan Francisco na gamitin ang makabagong teknolohiya sa pagpapaunlad ng pamumuhay ng mamamayan na may paggalang sa kapakanan ng tao at kalikasan.
