Tiniyak ni Antipolo Bishop Ruperto Santos na kasama nang sektor ng mga manggagawa ang Simbahang Katolika sa pagharap sa pandaigdigang krisis sa ekonomiya.
Iginiit ni Bishop Santos na kinikilala ng simbahang katolika ang hirap na dinaranas ng mga manggagawa kasama na ang mga kawani ng simbahan at karapatan sa tamang pasahod, maayos na kalagayan sa lugar ng paggawa at dignidad sa trabaho.
“We also recognize the many burdens our workers face: the rising costs of living, uncertain employment, insufficient wages, and the growing anxiety about the future. these realities weigh heavily not only on individuals but on entire families who depend on the fruits of their labor. As a church, we stand in solidarity with all workers. we affirm their right to just wages, humane working conditions, and opportunities that uphold their dignity as persons created in the image of God,” ayon sa mensaheng pinadala ni Bishop Santos sa Radyo Veritas.
Sa kanyang mensahe sa paggunita ng labor day, at sa gitna ng hinaharap na krisis dulot ng hindi makontrol na pagtaas sa presyo ng langis at pangunahing bilihin, hinimok ng Obispo ang mga mangagawa na huwag mawalan ng pag-asa dahil kalakbay nila ang panginoon.
Naninindigan din si Bishop Santos na patuloy na maging katuwang at boses ng mga manggagawa ang simbahan sa pagsusulong ng nakakabuhay na suweldo at pagpapatatag sa kanilang labor rights.
“Do not lose heart. the lord walks with you in your daily toil, and he blesses the work of your hands. may this labor day renew in all of us a deeper commitment to fairness, compassion, and shared responsibility, so that together we may build a society where no worker is forgotten and every family can live with dignity and hope. let us entrust all our workers to the loving care of our lady of peace and good voyage, that she may guide and protect them in their journeys each day,” bahagi pa ng mensaheng pinadala ni Bishop Santos sa Radyo Veritas.
