Nanawagan si Antipolo Bishop Ruperto Santos sa lahat ng mga parokyang saklaw ng Diyosesis ng Antipolo kaugnay ng nalalapit na conclave o pagtitipon ng mga kardinal mula sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng mundo upang pumili ng bagong Santo Papa.
Ayon kay Bishop Santos, simula May 7, 2025, ang una at huling Misa sa bawat araw sa lahat ng parokya ay iaalay para sa mga kardinal na lalahok sa conclave, upang ang pagpili ng bagong Santo Papa ay patnubayan ng Banal na Espiritu.
“As they enter into prayer and discernment, may the Holy Spirit inspire and enlighten them, guiding them toward the one whom God has chosen to lead His flock,” pahayag ni Bishop Santos sa panayam ng Radyo Veritas.
Hinimok din ng obispo ang mga mananampalataya na ipagkatiwala ang mahalagang desisyong ito sa pamamagitan ng pananalangin kay San Pedro, ang unang Santo Papa, upang ang hahaliling punong pastol ay manatiling matatag sa pananampalataya at sa pundasyon ng Simbahan.
Ipinagkaloob din ni Bishop Santos ang panawagan sa ilalim ng pagkalinga ng Mahal na Ina, na katulad ng kanyang “Fiat”, ay ituro ang ganap na pagtitiwala sa kalooban ng Diyos.
Samantala, inatasan din ni Bishop Santos na kapag naihayag na ang bagong Santo Papa, patutunugin ang mga kampana sa bawat simbahan bilang tanda ng kagalakan at pasasalamat.
“Let our prayers rise like incense before the throne of heaven. Let our hearts be filled with trust that God, in His infinite wisdom, will raise up a Pontiff who will safeguard the truth, strengthen our communion, and lead us ever deeper into the love of Christ,” saad ni Bishop Santos.
Itinakda ng College of Cardinals ang pagsisimula ng conclave sa May 7, na gaganapin sa Sistine Chapel ng Vatican.
Sa kasalukuyan, 133 sa 252 mga kardinal sa buong mundo ang kumpirmadong makalalahok sa pagpili ng bagong Santo Papa na magpapastol sa mahigit 1.4 bilyong katoliko.
Kabilang sa cardinal-electors mula sa Pilipinas sina Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines President, Kalookan Bishop Pablo Virgilio Cardinal David, Vatican Dicastery for Evangelization former Pro-Prefect, Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle, at Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula.
Prayer for the Election of the New Pope
Heavenly Father, you who guide Your Church with wisdom and love, be with Your faithful servants, the Cardinals, as they enter this sacred time of discernment.
Grant them clarity of mind, purity of heart, and the humility to seek only Your will. May the Holy Spirit descend upon them, illuminating their hearts with divine truth, that they may choose a shepherd after Your own heart.
Strengthen them in prayer, fill them with courage and peace, and unite them in a spirit of brotherhood and grace. May their deliberations be marked by holiness, and their decisions bring light and hope to the world.
Lord, bless Your Church with a leader who will embrace the poor, lift the broken, and proclaim Your mercy to all nations. Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we entrust this Conclave into Your hands.
