Lumagda sa kasunduan ang Armed Forces of the Philippines at United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) upang paigtingin ang pagsugpo sa karahasan, krimen at korapsyon.
Nilagdaan ang Memorandum of Agreement ni AFP Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Bartolome Vicente Bacarro at UNODC Senior Policy Advisor and Head to the Philippines Oliver Georges-Lermet.
Sa bisa ng kasunduan ay paiigtingin ang pagsugpo sa anumang uri ng katiwalian at krimen kasabay ng pagsusulong ng katarungang panlipunan upang mapabuti ang pamumuhay ng mas maraming Pilipino.
“This declaration specifically covers the diverse yet very important areas such as drug problems, counterterrorism, transnational organized crime, anti-corruption, and criminal justice. It is in these areas, that we endeavor to formulate relevant education, training, and research programs, that will undoubtedly provide great benefits for our military institution,” ayon sa pahayag ni Lt.Gen Bacarro.
Kaugnay nito, patuloy ang pakikiisa ng simbahang katolika sa pagtugon ng pamahalaan sa mga suliraning panlipunan.
