Nakikiramay ang social at advocacy arm ng Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines sa Diyosesis ng Novaliches kaugnay sa pagpanaw ni Argentinian priest, Fr. Luciano Felloni.
Ayon kay Caritas Philippines president, Kidapawan Bishop Jose Colin Bagaforo, ipinakita ni Fr. Felloni ang dedikasyon sa paglilingkod para sa kapwa lalo na sa mahihirap.
“His deep love for the Church and commitment to justice, especially for the marginalized and victims of violence, embodied the true essence of Christian service,” ayon kay Bishop Bagaforo.
Kinilala rin ni Bishop Bagaforo ang pagsuporta ni Fr. Felloni sa mga layunin ng Alay Kapwa program upang mapaunlad ang pamumuhay ng mga komunidad at higit na nangangailangan.
Naglingkod si Fr. Felloni bilang executive director ng Caritas Novaliches mula 2011 hanggang 2019; at priest director ng Novaliches Diocesan Social Action Commission at priest coordinator ng Social Service Development Ministry mula 2013 hanggang 2019.
Inilunsad din ng pari noong siya’y naglingkod bilang kura paroko ng Our Lady of Lourdes Parish sa Caloocan City, ang community-based rehabilitation program para sa drug users at mga inisyatiba para sa mga naulilang pamilya ng mga biktima ng extra-judicial killings sa kasagsagan ng war on drugs ng administrasyon ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
“On behalf of Caritas Philippines, we extend our deepest condolences to the Diocese of Novaliches and all who were touched by Fr. Felloni’s ministry. May his legacy of compassion and service continue to guide us in our mission of love and charity,” saad ni Bishop Bagaforo.
Si Fr. Felloni, na siyang founder ng AlmuSalita at dating anchor priest ng Barangay Simbayanan sa Radyo Veritas, ay pumanaw sa edad na 51 noong February 2, dahil sa mga komplikasyong dulot ng skin cancer.
