Kinilala ng mga opisyal ng Department of National Defense at Armed Forces of the Philippines ang pagkakatalaga kay Atty.Gilberto ‘Gibo’ Teodoro bilang bagong kalihim ng DND.
Inaasahan ni DND outgoing acting secretary Carlito Galvez na sa pagsisimula ng pamumuno ni Teodoro ay higit na mapapaigting ang mga adbokasiya ng DND upang isulong ang pangangalga ng seguridad at kapayapaan sa bansa.
“We have achieved great strides in our priority programs on internal security, territorial defense, disaster preparedness, and the continued development of the defense organization, rest assured that the DND has my unequivocal support as we all work together in the pursuit of our vision of a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Philippines,” bahagi ng mensahe ni Galvez.
Inihayag naman ng Armed Forces of the Philippines ang suporta sa bagong pinuno ng kagawaran kasabay ng pasasalamat kay Galvez.
Positibo si AFP spokesperson Medel Aguilar na sa pamumuno ni Teodoro ay higit na mapapatibay ang mga adbokasiya ng DND.
“The AFP welcomes the appointment of Atty Gilbert Teodoro as the new Secretary of National Defense and commits its all-out support to the new leadership of the One Defense Team, we believe that his decisive leadership, professional competence, and wealth of experience,” ayon naman sa mensahe ni Aguilar.
Nagpaabot din ng buong suporta ang Military Ordinariate of the Philippines sa bagong kalihim ng D-N-D.
Kasabay nito, nanawagan si MOP Bishop Oscar Jaime Florencio ang mamamayan na suportahan si Teodoro.
